Italian Greyhound Transport Thursday – 5 new Iggies headed to ROMP
It is Italian Greyhound Transport Thursday and we have 5 Italian Greyhounds on their way to ROMP Rescue. Two are rescues from mill like conditions, they are named Baby and Lindy, see the photo below. Baby – she is seal and white weighing in at a very tiny 7 lbs. She will be 4 in February 2014. She is very hand shy and has a kink in her tail. Donna and Liz are running the transport, when they are back at ROMP they will be vetted and further assessed. Regardless, she will need a foster home. Lindy is a bit big, weighing in at 10lbs. She has a blue fawn coat (the photo does not do her justice) and is also quite shy. She has an amputated front paw so we are affectionately calling her a 3.5 legged Italian Greyhound. She too is 3 years old. She too will need a foster home to teach her the finer points of being a pampered pet.
The second group is being transported through Colorado with the help of Melissa and National Mill Dog Rescue. They all grew up together and are being surrendered, through no fault of their own. It was a tearful goodbye for all, these pups were very loved. Meet Azula, Ceph, and Cosmo. From the bunch there are two siblings (the two on the right side) and Cosmo (the left). We are hoping the two siblings get fostered and adopted together. They are all very well behaved, socialized and from what we are told – litter box trained! (Yippee!)
